P.S.  Foot and ankle pain is not normal and if left untreated could lead to more serious conditions.  To parents, if you have noticed an abnormality in your child's feet or in the way they walk and were told by the pediatrician not to worry "they will grow out of it", you should consider getting a second opinion from a specialist.  While it is true that many children will grow out of their foot and gait conditions, some will not.  Many pediatric conditions can be treated conservatively while the feet and lower extremities are still growing, however if left untreated may require surgery, later in life.
